Sir Peter Hall School

Vision, Mission & Values

Every child and young person flourishing

Our Commitment

To be a place where every child and young person, whatever their experiences, is seen, heard, valued and respected as an individual.

We create a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where every pupil is known, understood and encouraged to flourish, building confidence, connection, self-awareness and a positive future.

Our Core Values

Our values are shared by every pupil and every adult. They shape how we treat ourselves, each other and our community.

Respect

We respect ourselves, others and our community

Kindness

We show kindness, compassion and understanding in all we do

Courage

We have the courage to try, to grow, to make positive choices and to keep going when things are difficult/tough

Aim: to be in the Right Place, at the Right time, doing the Right Thing

We Believe

We believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to flourish.

We champion pupils by recognising their strengths, believing in their potential and helping them see what is possible.

We believe relationships, trust and belonging come first. Pupils need to feel safe, valued and understood before they can fully engage, learn and achieve.

We understand that behaviour is communication. We seek to understand what lies behind behaviour and what each young person needs from us.

We meet pupils where they are and support them to move forward emotionally, socially and academically. We combine structure with compassion, high expectations with support, and challenge with encouragement.

We believe every pupil can grow and make progress when supported by the right relationships, environment and opportunities. We help them develop the confidence, self-awareness and skills to shape a positive future and pursue their aspirations.

Our practice is underpinned by

Trauma-Informed Practice

We seek to understand experiences and needs, responding with curiosity, compassion and understanding rather than judgement.

Relational Practice

We recognise that connection is the foundation for change, building trusting relationships and developing pupils’ skills for positive relationships.

Restorative Practice

We focus on repairing relationships, rebuilding trust and learning from experiences, not simply managing behaviour.

Unconditional Positive Regard

We see the young person, not just the challenge. We separate the individual from their behaviour and hold onto their strengths and potential.

Whole-Child Development

We value and celebrate social, emotional, personal and academic growth, recognising that success looks different for every pupil.

Repair and Readiness

We help pupils regulate, repair, reconnect and re-engage, developing the confidence and skills they need for their next step.
